Five on Friday

So excited to start my very first Five on Friday! Without further ado........

1. Closing on our first house next week! 
We put our offer in on July 4th and have been anxiously awaiting closing and moving in! We have so many plans and ideas for this house and are sooo ready to get in there. It will be sad to no longer be so close to the city but we are ready for our next adventure!

2. Pumpkin Spice Cheerios
Oh my gosh this are so good and so addicting! Like the rest of the world, I love everything fall and these cheerios are absolutely delicious, My husband and I may have gone through a whole box in one day...whoops!

3. Paint...paint...and more Paint!
Paint colors can be so overwhelming and difficult to find the perfect fit for your space. We found this Benjamin Moore Pewter Revere and it is THE perfect gray to start our bathroom makeover with! Can't wait to turn this hideous purple bathroom into this tranquil masterpiece!

4. National Dog Day!!
So excited to wake up and see it was national dog day. Our Charlie is the absolute best and brings so much love and joy into our lives. We both say quite often that we can't remember life without her! She got to celebrate today with lots of walks, lots of love, pumpkin spice cheerios, cheese and some hamburger! She is a happy little girl!

5. Patagonia Barely Baggie Shorts
These...shorts...are....amazing! Seriously so comfortable yet still look cute and feel a bit "fancier" than my normal workout shorts, great for casual days of running errands. Absolutely love them and want them in every color possible!

WELCOME TO OUR WORLD

Hello and welcome to our blog! We just purchased our first home and hope you'll follow along as we make our this house our own. We have many big projects in mind and wanted a place to document our journey! Here are some before pictures we took today at our final walk through....wish us luck!!!

For the outside of the house, we would like to add some shutters to the window above the garage as well as paint the front door black. We also hope to add to the fence to close in the backyard for Charlie! (our pup)

For the entryway, we hope to remove the carpet from the stairs as well as eventually remove the carpet from the dining room. We hope to one day maybe convert this to an office/reading room or eventually playroom as we don't have much of a need for a formal dining room! It also needs to be painted and the light fixtures changed.

One of the first things on our list is to re-paint this ugly purple bathroom!! We have already picked up some paint (Benjamin Moore- Revere Pewter) and this will be the first project we tackle! We also want to add in a little shelf behind the toilet.

We have SO many things we would like to do to this kitchen. One of the first things is to change the lovely floral backsplash to crisp white subway tile. We also want to paint the kitchen (which is a pale yellow) to a nice bright white color. We also have plans to eventually paint the cabinets as well and way down the road get some new appliances. The light fixture above the table has also got to go as well as the main light fixture. 

Next up is the living room! I love the built in shelves and am so happy to have them in this room. We need to get a new area rug as well as white wash the fireplace and change the shelf on the fire place. other than that, this room is a nice light gray that we like at the moment. Also need to replace the ugly brown ceiling fan!

One of our favorite parts of the house is this screened in porch and the yard! Need to get some nice patio furniture and a lovely outdoor rug for out here.

These are just the very beginnings of the all the plans we have for our first real adult grown up home!!! Stay tuned for plans for the upstairs!!!
